Creative Card Crew Challenge #70 - Steampunk/Urban

Welcome back for the next edition of the Creative Card Crew Challenge!  This fortnight our challenge is Steampunk/Urban.

For my card this round I chose to use Brianna Blaster from Kenny K's amazing inventory of digis.  Colored her up with my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils and created a card using Graphic 45's Steampunk Spells papers.

Summer Garden Fairy House

Hi All!  I've been busily creating in my new craft room and wanted to share my latest projects with you!

First up - a Summer Garden Fairy House a-la Laura Denison.  I fell in love with her fairy houses the moment I saw them and this is my first attempt at creating one of my own.  The piece features a windowed tower and a mini album inside (of course).  I used Graphic 45's Once Upon A Springtime collection to decorate this one. Enjoy!

Perfect Sentiments Challenge 87: The Great Outdoors

Oops!! In my haste to get started with Perfect Sentiments, I completely forgot to create a post for my first challenge! Dur!

I am one of the newest joining the PS design team. I've been looking forward to this for a long time now and am super happy to have finally been accepted. I hope I can live up to everyone's high standards :)

This weeks challenge is all about The Great Outdoors! With summer and vacation season coming to an end, we challenge you to create a card with an outdoorsy theme. You can use either an outdoor image or sentiment, but don't forget to include your sentiment on the front!

I didn't use any special techniques. I just "matted" several images that I cut from the "Secret Garden" (Graphic 45) set that I have.

Perfect Sentiments Challenge #77 - Make It Feminine

The Challenge:

Create a card and make it feminine!  Use Lace, pearls, bling, lacy die cuts, doilies, anything that a girl loves!  Don't forget to include your sentiment on the front of your card!

Here's my sample using Katie Kitty from Robyn's Fetish.  Graphic 45's Little Darlings 8x8 pad and Tim Holtz Alterations Crinkle Ribbon dyed with Ranger Distress Stain in Spun Sugar and Ranger Distress Ink  in Tattered Rose.

I colored this adorable little stamp with Faber Castell Polychromos colored pencils, fussy cut her out and popped her up on the card.  If you look closely, you can also see that I stitched around each stripe in the background and around the edge of the panel.

Perfect Sentiments Challenge #72 - Brides or Babies

Even though I am a pretty long way from anyone in my family having a baby anytime soon, I decided to make a baby card.  I was moving some boxes from my mother's house around in my craft room the other day and came across a box - about the size of a robe box - wrapped in pink baby shower paper.  This box has every card my mother and father received when I was born plus scraps of wrapping paper from the gifts I received.  Yep, Mom saved everything...but it's kind of fun to go through those every once in a while.  So I guess I had baby stuff on my mind...

Mini Albums

Hey bloggers, thanks for dropping in today!  I have a couple of mini albums that I've been meaning to get up here for you to see...the first one is made from a pattern I found on Gloria Stengel's site Scraps of Life.  It's such a fun and easy to make mini album I'm sure I'll use the pattern over and over. 

I used Graphic 45 Christmas papers to complete this album.  I can't say enough about how much I love their lines...

The large flower was made using the McGill Paper Blossoms Rose Punch, the rest are from Wild Orchid.  The lacey circle is actually a spellbinders die and the numbers were cut from red mirror paper using a Tim Holtz movers and shapers die.

Now for the inside...

Lots of cool folds and flaps with plenty of space for photos and journaling.  I used a velcro dot to secure the inner "doors" closed.

Gloria's instructions said to use heavy cardstock, I actually used watercolor paper (the heavy weight kind) so this album is super sturdy.

The next mini is also made from Graphic 45 papers.  For this one I used the new line "Place In Time."  I love working in miniature - this little book is just 3" x 3".
