Steampunk Canvas

Ok so Lauri is always complaining that every time she put up a post on the blog I go and post something so that her post isn't on top anymore.  So of course, I had to create something today to post over her latest post! :P  (Love you Lauri)...

So I was running through ustream today and ran across this cool video from Freestyle Crafts.  Steampunk is my weakness so I couldn't help but pause to take a peek at what she was doing.  Lots of super-cool techniques (and you know what a technique junkie I am!), so I thought I'd give it a shot - Enjoy :)

I can't even begin to tell you all of the different techniques on this one...new things for me were working with polymer clay (I know, I can't believe it either) and using spackling compound with a mask.  There are so many techniques packed into this little 5x6 canvas it's crazy!  Here's some close ups...

Have a great day!

  2. Cheryl...WOW! I LOVE your canvas! It's just awesome! First of all, I love your colors....right up my alley. :) I love your dimensional background with the beautifully done stenciled or masked center! Gorgeous! I love your little polymer clay added embellishments. I love the metal elements. The filmstrip running down the left side and the wings with the real feathers tucked in with them on the right side really balance out toe gorgeous details of everything in between! That steampunk diva is absolutely gorgeous, too! Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful canvas with us at Simon Says Stamp and Show. <3 Candy
