Tattered Florals Challenge

Hey everyone - it's almost the weekend!  I have a few shots today of a project I've been working on for the last week or so as inspiration for it hits...This is Laura Denison's Book of Memories pattern done up with the new BoBunny Tres Chic line.  I've had the cover sitting mostly blank since I finished the outside of the book and this week I got my cover art inspiration!  Tim Holtz has an awesome tutorial on his blog that shows his tattered florals technique and he's also hosting a challenge for folks to create some of their own!  I fell in love with the first picture!

I created my tattered florals using Tim's Tattered Florals Die.  I cut the blooms from several different things - canvas, burlap, tissue paper and grunge paper.  For the grunge paper I first covered the piece with tissue (one was Tim's Composers Tissue Wrap and the other was just plain tissue paper which I then stamped with Tim's Wallpaper background stamp) and then I colored them with Ranger Distress Inks by laying down ink on my craft mat, spraying with water and dragging the prepared grunge paper through the ink.   Once that was done I used my ink tool and added more ink until I achieved the look I was going for.

Blessings,
