My creations...

I have been on this weird black and pastel streak. It's very strange. I'm usually a blue girl.

Anyhow. I learned how to make a new flower this weekend. Queen Ann's Lace. They're beautiful and super easy to make. Since Cheryl or I have access to a Pine Branch, McGill's punch, I went and purchased a Martha Stewart medium branch. They are identical in looks, but the MS line is about a half inch smaller. Works the same :)

As many folks know, I'm not a super huge fan of grunge, antiqued, and metaled cards, BUT I decided to step outside my comfort zone. I had lost my inspiration to make more cards, so I flipped through my TH-Compendium of Curiosities. Found Rusted Enamel on page 41 to be somewhat useful.

Cheryl keeps shaking her head at me. She's taken to calling me "Most Likely to Run with Scissors" because I NEVER follow instructions. I do things MY way. That said, I took a plain piece of white cardstock and completely covered it with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Then put it into my little tray and emptied the jar of clear embossing powder on it. I didn't bother to tap the back or knock any of the excess powder off before using my heat tool. What I ended up with was a super shiny multi-shades of brown piece of cardstock.

I loved it!

See? I'm stepping outside my plain Jane comfort zone!

Another thing people can depend on with me is flowers. There are always flowers somewhere on the majority of my cards. Either patterned paper or something hand made.

Here's my beautiful result!!!

Supplies Used:
2 different patterned papers. (one is G45)
Memory box, Fanciful flourish x2 (1 green, 1 brown)
Bazzil basic card-stock
McGill's Petals punch, birch leaf, alpine snowflake, and MS Medium branch
AND, lastly, 4 brown rhinestones.

I absolutely LOVE how this card turned out. Here's a closeup:

As always, ENJOY!!

Love always;

Lauri
