Tag #7 of the
12 Tags of Christmas has a cool technique for the background. Linda treated kraft paper with Ink Refresher. The technique results in a cool fabric-looking base that can be painted, stained or inked up! I've done a similar technique before (for the faux leather on my
vintage camera mini album), except I used fabric softener instead of the Ink Refreseher. After trying both techniques, I think I like the results better from the fabric softener. I got less pilling of the paper and it was much more pliable when I was finished. Of course, that wouldn't work too well on a tag, so I guess they both have their uses!
Like Linda, I stamped the background with evergreeens before adding my deer. The vintage lace and gold bells are left overs from my wedding decorations (11 years ago!) then I added a TH Charm, Ribbon & a button to finish it off.
Thanks to Linda at The Funkie Junkie Boutique for sponsoring this awesome challenge :)
