Our Daily Bread Designs Forum Bible Verse Thursday Challenge #32 - God's Plan

“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord.
Plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
~Jeremiah 29:11

There is not one of us that would not raise our hands high in the air, when asked if we wanted to be all that God wants us to be.  There is a plan that God has for all of our lives, and to find the ultimate fulfillment in life, we must gain a knowledge of that plan, and then put it into action as God directs.  It seems that at times people get the mistaken idea that if somehow we yield to the Will of God, that we are going to spend the rest of our lives doing things we do not want to do, and being miserable until the day we die.

I happen to believe that when we yield to the Lord, we will be happier than we ever dreamed even doing things we thought we never would even want to do.  If we trust that God’s plans are to prosper us and not harm us, then we can relax and enjoy the present moment.  Even so, we must focus on staying close to Him, for though our hope and our future are rooted in heaven where eternal ecstasy awaits us God is the one who sets the pace in keeping with our needs and His purposes.

I recently read a sermon title online that spoke to my heart, and although I did not hear any of the sermon, the title captured my attention:
The title is: “Don’t Be An Almost”

In this life, there are many examples of what it means to almost make it...

One might think of the sports teams who year after year make it to the championship game and “almost” win.

All we have to do is look at the 2000 presidential election, and see how amazing this word “almost” is, as Al Gore “almost” became President but lost by a margin of a few votes.

Time and space does not permit me to mention names of various men and women of God who just in our lifetime became an “almost”, and never fully accomplished all that God intended for their lives.

The very first step in becoming everything God wants you to be is to receive His Son Jesus Christ into your life, and accept the free gift of forgiveness.

Your challenge this week is to create a project using this scripture or another verse that tells of God’s plan for us.  When uploading your project, please use keyword ODBDBVT32 and then hop over to the Our Daily Bread Designs Forum and share what you’ve done with us!

  1. Hi Cheryl,

Your sample and your post are beautiful and encouraging. May the Lord pour out His Spirit in revival that many would turn from their ways and into the paths of righteousness, receiving that free gift that the Lord Jesus offers to all who will come unto Him! He is able to save to the uttermost! Blessings!
