Compendium of Curiosities Vol 2 Challenge 2 - Faux Patina

I'm back again with Compendium of Curiosities Vol 2 challenge #2!  It's so hard to pick a favorite technique from Tim Holtz but this one from page 58 in his Compendium of Curiosities Vol 2 is really cool.  Being a huge fan of all things vintage I love the looks I can achieve with this one!

For details about this challenge, check out Studio L3

I decided to create an altered frame for this one - I make so many cards and tags I thought it was time for something different!  I used the technique on the Adornments at the top of the frame and also on the clockface.  (I really love the look I got on the clock).

I also used another faux patina technique on the metal flowers - I painted them with a thin layer of paint and then sprinkled Perfect Pearls powder in Green Patina as well as some Ranger Distress Embossing Powder in Vintage Photo, heated to emboss & set and then dusted of the excess embossing powder.  These have a really cool dimensional rust look to them.

Lastly, I hit the larger roses with Clear Rock Candy Crackle paint and dusted two of them with a bit of the perfect pearls patina as well.
