Good morning dear brothers and sisters in Christ! Welcome to Bible Verse Thursday this week of
Christmas!
A Savior has been born to you,
He is Christ the Lord!
~Luke 2:11
Earlier this
week, I read a commentary that said “Try to imagine what our Lord gave up for
you.” As I meditated on how Christ came
into the world I was awed. He came as a
baby – not a king or a rich man, as surely befit him. He set aside His Glory so that He could
identify with us.
Sitting
quietly with Him, I realized that the process He went through is reversed for
us. As we identify with Him, Heaven’s
Glory is opened up before us. He became
poor so that we might become rich. “For
you know the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for
your sake He became poor so that you, through His poverty, might become
rich.” 2 Corinthians 8:9.
As we wait
attentively to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, we are clothed in
the light of the knowledge of His Glory.
May we be renewed in mind, cleansed in heart and invigorated in body.
