Been wondering where I am?

Hey all, been wondering what happened to me?  I just dropped off the planet for a few days - sorry :)  Seriously though, I went to Denver, CO for a few days to visit some friends.  It was so nice to get out of town for a bit - always recharges my batteries!

 I have a bunch of pics that you will, no doubt, see over then next few days/weeks but I wanted to share some here with a little tutorial on how to use Quickpages from MyMemories

I used a quickpage called Weathered Florals from CatDesignz, A Day to Remember Alpha from Laitha's Designs and my MyMemories Suite Software to create a page using some of the pix I took when we visited Cave of the Winds in Colorado Springs.

Literally all I did to create this beautiful page was add photos and text!

Create Your Own Custom Blog Header!

Like the new look of the blog?  I created it myself using MyMemories Suite!  It was super- easy to do and now I can have the unique look I want on my blog without having to pay someone to do it for me!  Here's a tutorial that explains how I made the blog header and the background is just a coordinating paper from the same kit - Steampunked (DigiZines by Teri) which I purchased from the MyMemories store.

 

 

 

How to Use MyMemories Suite to Create a Custom Header in Blogger

 

Did you know that you can use MyMemories Suite Software to create a custom header?

Have you ever wanted to create a header for your blog that was just perfect, but couldn’t find that perfect template?

 

Now you can have the perfect blog header that looks just the way you want using MyMemories Suite Software.

Steps to Create your own Blog Header:

• To choose your own custom size, just create a new album and choose design your own.
• Then choose the ›Custom Size tab in the middle of the screen.
• You can set the size by inches or pixels.
  • Usually a blogger header is around 1000x300 pixels and a WordPress header is 904x160 pixels
• Add whatever content you want, including papers, pictures, text and embellishments.
• Finally, click on Share Album in far right column and select Export
  • In the Export Wizard, make sure that the image type is jpeg and the image size is the size you chose for your header and click finish
• Then all you have to do is load it into your blogger, see bottom of pdf tutorial below for more information on this step!

Mom

I have been wanting to do a scrapbook with memories of my Mom for quite a while now, this is my first page.  My mother had a deep faith that she passed on to her kids, grandkids, and anyone who would listen.  She was a caregiver her entire life from taking care of her 11 younger siblings, to my brothers and I to little old ladies that she did adult foster care for after we were all out of the house.  A dear friend of hers, Sr. Thomas Marie Brice, OSB once wrote me that my mother reminded her of our heavenly mother, Mary.  She's been gone for 18 months or so now and I still miss her every single day and am grateful for everything she taught me and mostly because she always loved me no matter what.

Technique:  to get the stamp on the digital page, I stamped the image on a piece of clear acrylic and then scanned it as a png file, put it into photoshop and removed the background, then saved and applied to the digital page like an embellishment.
