"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted" ~Matthewe 5:4
I have had 2 dear friends lose their mothers this past week and my husband had a good friend and co-worker pass away so I have been busy making sympathy cards and attending services. With all the activity I have been thinking about those families and friends left behind who are mourning the loss of their loved ones.
We mourn when a loved one is taken away from us
Matthew 9:15
15 Jesus answered, "How can the guests of the bridegroom mourn while he is with them? The time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast. NIV
It’s OK to cry, to be sad when a loved one is taken away. Naturally, we are sad. We can no longer visit that person; or to hear their voice or to receive their wise counsel. But as believers, we believe in the Word of God, the Bible that tells us that as a believer who has given her life to Jesus, he or she has passed on from this life to be in the presence of Jesus. Those who are left behind to mourn can take heart knowing that their loved one is now seeing what he/she believed.
Your challenge this week is to create a project using this scripture or another verse that reminds us that even though we mourn, Jesus will bring us comfort. When uploading your project, please use keyword ODBDBVT52 and then jump over to Our Daily Bread Designs Forum to share it with us!
