Welcome back for the latest Bible Verse Thursday Challenge from Our Daily Bread Designs Forum. If you haven't visited this wonderful community of Christian crafters, please make a point to drop by the forum and join us! This week's challenge is all about asking the Father for help in times of need.
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace
that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need”
~Hebrews 4:16
Peace is the Father’s continual gift to us. It flows abundantly from the throne of
grace. Just as the Israelites could not
store up manna for the future but had to gather it daily, so it is with God’s
peace. Seeking His peace on a daily
basis keeps us aware of our dependence on Him.
He designed us to need Him and as our awareness of this need increases,
so does our realization of His abundant sufficiency. He can meet every one of our needs without
draining His resources at all!
Therefore, we should approach Him boldly with our needs and receive His
peace with a grateful heart.
Personally, I think it honors God when we approach Him this
way. It's what He prefers, because it's what His Son has accomplished. We are
to have no fear of judgment. We are safest wrapped in the arms of the one who
bought us and redeemed us. He paid a heavy price to get us, He's not going to
suddenly turn His back when His children run to him believing, counting on,
depending on Him to be gracious. That honors Him. It honors His promises to us.
It honors His Son.
I heard a life-story on my local Christian radio station
this week. It was from a well-known
Christian artist who lost his first wife very young. What he learned as he grieved is that it is
easy to draw inward and hide when we are going through difficult times but what
God wants is for us to seek Him and draw near to Him for comfort and help in
our time of need.
It’s easy to praise Him when times are good. It’s harder to turn to him when things are
not going so well, but if we can manage it (as He wants us to) He will give us
the grace and peace to move forward.
Your challenge this week is to create a project using this
scripture or another verse that reminds us to turn to the Lord in our time of
need. Please use keyword ODBDBVT17 when
uploading your project and then join us at Our Daily Bread Designs Forum to
share your work!
